BEHIND THE WHEEL BETWEEN ART AND DESIGN

On the occasion of the centenary of Gabriella Crespi’s birth, an exhibition dedicated to the great Milanese artist and designer will open in Turin on May 27th.

Organized in collaboration with the National Automobile Museum and the Crespi Archive, the exhibition was conceived as an original installation featuring the Ford station wagon that Crespi drove when, with the trunk loaded with projects, he went to present to the artisans.

The car is surrounded by a selection of works representative of Crespi’s work and by a rich photo gallery that allows you to learn more about the character and the environment in which she lived, the world of the international jet-set, the Roman and Milanese aristocracy. .

From the early 1950s to 1987 Gabriella Crespi designed over two thousand pieces of furniture including art, high craftsmanship and contemporary style; unique pieces built with great style and attention to the smallest detail. Her metamorphic tables, chairs, lamps, naturalistic and abstract decorative objects still reach very high auction prices, in Italy and even more abroad.
