ANDREA POLICHETTI

His first work dates back to 2015. He himself says that it took a long time to get there. Immediately after high school, in fact, in 2008, he began working as a set-up in some contemporary art galleries, foundations and museums in the city of Rome. City where Polichetti lives and works. Later he became interested in the production of independent exhibitions in artist studios, such as the one entitled 89/2012, or in the management of unusual spaces, such as the temporary space Da Franco (inside a barbershop in the center of Rome). .
Meanwhile, his research continues, which draws on the archaeological and natural imagery, and is expressed through drawing, printing, cyanotype, sculpture, neon.
In 2020 he founded with other artists (Dario Carratta, Marco Eusepi, Alessandro Giannì), the philosopher Giuseppe Armogida and the curator Gaia Bobò, Spaziomensa. This is the Sicilian artist Sebastiano Bottaro’s studio, which is located inside the Citylab971 (a reality, located inside the former Rome paper mill). The space, which has undergone several changes compared to its initial conformation, today is configured as a place for experimentation, sharing and multifunctionality, acting as a connector between the different realities of the city of Rome.
